Ru graduated from the School of Oriental and African Studies in 1999,where he was the head of entertainment, and studied Ethnomusicology and South Asian religion. Ru joined Music Copyright Solutions after graduating as a creative researcher and A & R assistant, and soon helped create a World Music department which went on to have success in the fields of Reggae, Asian Pop, Jazz and the more traditional classical ethnic genres.
Since leaving MCS in 2003, Ru has moved towards the film & television side of the industry, as well as editing and music production. In addition to his background in publishing and royalties, Ru also has experience of synchronisation, spanning advertising and several major films.As a freelancing consultant has provided publishing and production advice for several UK publishing houses and record labels, as well as working with a non for profit organisation promoting urban artists, and creating a music publishing arm for the group.
Ru loves all types of world music, hip pop, soul, blues and drum & bass amongst other things.
Ru looks after the film supervision for the UK Creative Services team and uses his contacts throughout the industry to find all kinds of solutions to suit all film budgets.
