A Stone Cold Classic and Some Undiscovered Gems

Johnny Nash

Some songs become so engrained in pop culture that they develop a timeless, almost universal appeal, 'I Can See Clearly Now' by Johnny Nash is one of those songs. Released in 1972 it was a fantastic showcase for Johnny's voice, which soars with an incredible crystalline clarity.

Sixteen years later the song was used for a major international campaign for Nescafe. We've posted the ad below, but be warned, viewing it may result in a violent wave of nostalgia. Other high profile uses include 1997's 'Grosse Point Blank', a film which is so great even Mini Driver doesn't spoil it.

As we discovered recently when rummaging around in the archives, Johnny has written a few more belters, which you can stream and download below. From the insanely infectious whistle of 'Let's Be Friends' to the deep soul of 'You Poured Sugar on Me', these are some gems which need to be shared.

 Nescafe (Sunrise) - 1988

Grosse Point Blank - 1997
